5. How long do I have to complete the course(s)?
All of our course packages are offered in 7, 30, 90 or 180 day packages. If you choose an individual or small course package, it will most likely be available for 7 - 30 days. Our complete packages are most often offered as a 30 day course, but the larger ones are available for up to 180 days. ** Your allotted time to complete the course begins when you purchase the course, not the first time you log in. ** If you do not complete the course in the allotted time, you may extend the time allowance for up to 6 months
6. How can I extend my course(s)?
To extend your course: WAIT UNTIL YOUR COURSE EXPIRES. Then, on your welcome screen, next to the course title, it will state: "Expired. Extend?" You should click on this link. It will take you back to the shopping cart where you will be charged a $25 extension fee. **When you extend your course, ALL of your courses will likewise be extended. The extension amount is always fixed to replicate the original amount of time the course was purchased for.
7. Do I receive a Certificate of Completion after I have finished my course?
When you complete any of our courses, you are furnished with a Certificate of Completion. This certificate becomes available to you online, once you have completed and passed all of your course materials.
8. Is this class offered completely online?
Our courses are offered online via streaming video and written lecture material. Therefore, in most cases you do not need to spend any time in a physical classroom. (Please see your individual state requirements for Continuing Education credits.)
9. How long will it take me to complete my course?
Our unique online program provides you with the flexibility to create your own study schedule. While we recommend that you watch the videos at least twice and take notes during your courses, we allow you to study for as long as you would like. On average, each lesson's video lasts between 25 and 40 minutes. Each course is normally composed of several lessons.
10. Once I have purchased my courses, how do I begin my studies?
From Mortgage-Education.com, you should choose "Student Log In." Once you are logged in, you will be automatically taken to your welcome page. On your welcome page, you will see a list of all of the courses that you have purchased, including some very important information about them, including when your course will expire and if you have passed the exam or not. To visit the courses, simply click on the title of the course that you are ready to study. You will then be directed to a page that lists all of the available lessons in the course that you have chosen. You always have the option to enter your course with or without the video: this is a personal decision that you are given and will not affect your scores with us in any way. Once you have chosen how you would like to study your course, you are automatically taken to that lesson.
11. I can't log in to Mortgage-Education.com. Help!
You should log in with your entire email address as your user ID. (i.e.: martha@mortgage-education.com) Also: your email address and your password are both case sensitive. Please double check that both your caps lock is not on, and that your number lock key is not pushed. 99% of all log in problems are due to mistyping or misspelling.
12. Do I need to take the entire course at once, in one sitting?
No. Our courses are designed to provide you with flexibility to enter and exit your courses as often as you would like within your time allotment.
13. Will I receive a workbook to study from?
Our workbook is provided online as what we call "supplemental documents." As your instructor guides you through your courses, he will refer to forms, web sites and other documents that are commonly used in the mortgage industry. Before you begin your courses, we recommend that you print out your documents. Use them as a workbook to take notes with and to keep the valuable information for later reference.
14. How do I print and save my supplemental documents?
Once you have chosen a course from your welcome page, you will see a link near the top of the page that states, "supplemental documents." Each document will be listed individually, and you should choose each that you would like to print individually. The documents will normally be Adobe PDF files (you will need the PDF viewer to see the files.) You can then print and save the documents the same as you would any other on your computer.
15. Are there examinations with my coursework?
Each course package comes complete with quizzes and a final exam. Each course is followed by a quiz, and each course package is followed by a final exam. An 80% or above is considered to be a passing grade. When you take a test or a quiz, your score will appear immediately. If you do not pass any of our examinations, you may take it again until you pass. You will always have the option to retake the quiz, but if you take it again after you have already passed it once, you will forfeit your previous score. You will not be able to view or take your final exam until you have passed all of your quizzes. You certificate will not become available until you have passed your final exam.
16. How do I view the video?
When you enter each lesson with video, it will begin to play automatically. If you have high-speed internet, it will appear quickly, but if you have dial-up, it will probably take a few minutes. You can operate the video player the same you would operate a physical one: use the play, stop, fast forward and rewind buttons as you normally would.
17. Is there a guarantee?
At any time if you need customer service, please contact our friendly support staff at 888-555-6770. We guarantee all of our courses to your satisfaction and are here to help in case you need it for whatever reason.
18. How do I know what Continuing Education is available for me?
To view continuing education courses, you should first click on "The Courses" near the banner on every section of our webpage. This link will take you directly to our course catalog. On the left hand side of the page, you should input your state that you intend to be licensed for and the type of license that you would like education for. You license choices are Mortgage Broker, Loan Officer, Real Estate Professional, and Loan Officer. Next, you should click "go." You will be directed to a page that will list the available courses for your state. Choose the appropriate courses and purchase them.
19. How can I check my state's license requirements?

By clicking on the link that states, State License Information , located on the left-links on most of our pages, you will be directed to a new page that lists all of the states in the country. By choosing the state that you intend to be licensed in, you will be able to view detailed licensing and requirements for each state. This information includes the appropriate telephone numbers and contact information for assistance with licensing and what is required to establish or renew a license. Additionally, you will see a link with information about background checks. You will also find a link that will take you to view the appropriate course work for your state.

20. Why isn't my state sponsored? What does it mean to be sponsored?
Sponsored states approve our course work to apply for your continuing education credits. If your state is not sponsored, it means that our course work will not apply towards your licensing requirements. Normally, this is the case because your state does not require continuing education, but it also sometimes means that your state does not approve online education at this time.
21. How can I get cross-state certifications?
Because each state has varying requirements for CE credits, each cross state certification is a unique situation. Therefore, each needs to be processed individually by someone in our cross-state certification department. The fee to transfer credits to another state is $50. Please contact our support staff to have your credits transferred at 888-555-6770.
22. I have purchased my courses, but how will I know I am following the correct procedure?
For assistance with our CE courses, we offer a Continuing Education Checklist available as soon as you log in to my.Mortgage-Education.com. We recommend that you print this checklist and follow each step to get the most out of your education. To find the checklist, simply log in to your courses via the "log in" link. As soon as you log in, you will see a link to the top left that states, Continuing Education Checklist.
23. What is the Affidavit of Identity?
The affidavit of identity is simply a form that you should download, print and take to a notary. This form verifies your identity through a third person and is required to receive a certificate in our courses. It can be faxed to our office at 770-792-6775. Once you have logged into your courses, you will be able to see if we have receieved yours yet in the top right corner of your screen. You will be able to take and complete your courses if we have not received the affidavit, BUT you cannot receive your certificate of completion until we receive it. The sooner you send your affidavit, the faster we process your certification.
24. What is the Proctor Agreement and do I need one?
A proctor agreement is required ONLY by Louisiana and Montana. The proctor agreement means that: a third party notary should watch you take your final exam, and by signing the document, he is stating that it was in fact you that took this course and its exam. We have available lists of the approved proctors for each state that requires them.
25. What should I know about receiving my certificate of completion?

We provide a Certificate of Completion to all of our students. To gain access to your certificate, you must first complete all of the necessary requirements, including:

  1. Send (fax) in the required documentation, such as the affidavit of identity and the proctor agreement, if needed.
  2. Physically complete all of the required time in your courses, with the interactive timer.
  3. Pass all of your quizzes with an 80% or above.
  4. Pass the final exam with an 80% or above. This only becomes available after requirements 2 and 3 have been completed.

Once we have received all of your completed requirements, we will begin our verification process to provide your certificate. Our verfication process requires nothing on your part, but takes a minimum of 24 hours to complete. 24-48 hours after we have received all of your requirements, a link to both the Official Certificate to send to the state and a Certificate to hang on your office wall will become available online.

26. Where is my final exam?
Your final exam will not become available until you have physically completed all of the required time in your courses, with the interactive timer AND passed all of your quizzes with an 80% or above. Once you have done these things, your final exam can be located on each course's gateway page at the top towards the right.
27. Why does it say that my certificate is pending verification?
Once we have received all of your necessary requirements, it takes us 24-48 hours to verify your coursework and paperwork before we release your certificate. There is nothing to be done on your part. Pending verification simply means that we are reviewing your submitted information and we are aware that you completed your final exam and we will have your certificate available as soon as possible.
28. What should I do after I finish my final exam?
Once you have completed your final exam, please double check the continuing education checklist to ensure that you have completed all of the requirements. Also, make sure that our website states that we have received your affidavit and proctor agreement (if necessary). Besides that, there is nothing else you will need to do for 24-48 hours.
29. How does the timer work?
Through our continuing education checklist, we have provided detailed instructions for how to use the course timer. When you are logged into your courses, click on the link for the continuing education checklist and then click on the link that states, course timer. You will be directed to instructions.
