General Course Information
1. How do I purchase a course?
First, you should begin by visiting our course catalog. After choosing which type of course your are interested in (either Continuing Education, College Credit Courses, Learning the Mortgage Business or Company Training), you will be directed to a new page that lists all of your "available courses." From this list, view course details by clicking on the course title. When you are ready to purchase, click "Add to Cart." You will then be brought to a shopping cart where you can review your courses before you purchase. If you wish to purchase additional courses, just choose the link that states, "continue shopping." When you are ready, just choose to continue to checkout.
2. Which type of course is right for me?

In our course catalog, you have the choice to choose to study in any of the following sections: a) Continuing Education, b) College Credit Courses, c) Learning the Mortgage Business, or d) Company Training Courses. Following, is a brief description of all of our categories.

--Continuing Education: These are courses intended for any state licensing requirements for Mortgage Brokers, Loan Officers, Appraisers and Real Estate Professionals.
--College Credit Courses: These courses offer complete education packages for anyone just entering the business or even needing a comprehensive refresher course. The CMIC Course offers 9 hours of transferable, ACE accredited college credit. If you also need a computer to take your courses, you can also choose this option with the inclusion of a desktop or laptop computer. They also offer our job placement service.
--Learning the Mortgage Business: These courses are for students who need to learn the industry, but do not require any kind of certification. Nonetheless, we will provide a non-acredited certificate of completion.
--Company Training Courses: These courses are designated for companies who use our courses to train our courses. They offer specialized course packages geared towards the needs of a specific company.
3. How long do I have to complete the course(s)?
All of our course packages are offered in either 7, 30, 90 or 180 day packages. If you choose an individual or small course package, it will most likely be available for 7 - 30 days. Our complete packages are most often offered as a 30 day course, but the larger ones are available for up to 180 days. ** Your allotted time to complete the course begins when you purchase the course, not the first time you log in. ** If you do not complete the course in the allotted time, you may extend the time allowance for up to 6 months
4. How can I extend my course(s)?
To extend your course: WAIT UNTIL YOUR COURSE EXPIRES. Then, on your welcome screen, next to the course title, it will state: "Expired. Extend?" You should click on this link. It will take you back to the shopping cart where you will be charged a $25 extension fee. **When you extend your course, ALL of your courses will likewise be extended. The extension amount is always fixed to replicate the original amount of time the course was purchased for.
5. Do I receive a Certificate of Completion after I have finished my course?
When you complete any of our courses, you are furnished with a Certificate of Completion. This certificate becomes available to you online, once you have completed and passed all of your course materials.
6. Is this class offered completely online?
Our courses are offered online via streaming video and written lecture material. Therefore, in most cases you do not need to spend any time in a physical classroom. (Please see your individual state requirements for Continuing Education credits.)
7. How long will it take me to complete my course?
Our unique online program provides you with the flexibility to create your own study schedule. While we recommend that you watch the videos at least twice and take notes during your courses, we allow you to study for as long as you would like. On average, each lesson's video lasts between 25 and 40 minutes. Each course is normally composed of several lessons.
8. Once I have purchased my courses, how do I begin my studies?
From Mortgage-Education.com, you should choose "Student Log In." Once you are logged in, you will be automatically taken to your welcome page. On your welcome page, you will see a list of all of the courses that you have purchased, including some very important information about them, including when your course will expire and if you have passed the exam or not. To visit the courses, simply click on the title of the course that you are ready to study. You will then be directed to a page that lists all of the available lessons in the course that you have chosen. You always have the option to enter your course with or without the video: this is a personal decision that you are given and will not affect your scores with us in any way. Once you have chosen how you would like to study your course, you are automatically taken to that lesson.
9. I can't log in to Mortgage-Education.com. Help!
You should log in with your entire email address as your user ID. (ie: martha@mortgage-education.com) Also: your email address and your password are both case sensitive. Please double check that both your caps lock is not on, and that your number lock key is not pushed. 99% of all log in problems are due to mistyping or misspelling.
10. Do I need to take the entire course at once, in one sitting?
No. Our courses are designed to provide you with flexibility to enter and exit your courses as often as you would like within your time allotment.
11. Will I receive a workbook to study from?
Our workbook is provided online as what we call "supplemental documents." As your instructor guides you through your courses, he will refer to forms, web sites and other documents that are commonly used in the mortgage industry. Before you begin your courses, we recommend that you print out your documents. Use them as a workbook to take notes with and to keep the valuable information for later reference.
12. How do I print and save my supplemental documents?
Once you have chosen a course from your welcome page, you will see a link near the top of the page that states, "supplemental documents." Each document will be listed individually, and you should choose each that you would like to print individually. The documents will normally be Adobe PDF files (you will need the PDF viewer to see the files.) You can then print and save the documents the same as you would any other on your computer.
13. Are there examinations with my coursework?
Each course package comes complete with quizzes and a final exam. Each course is followed by a quiz, and each course package is followed by a final exam. An 80% or above is considered to be a passing grade. When you take a test or a quiz, your score will appear immediately. If you do not pass any of our examinations, you may take it again until you pass. You will always have the option to retake the quiz, but if you take it again after you have already passed it once, you will forfeit your previous score. You will not be able to view or take your final exam until you have passed all of your quizzes. You certificate will not become available until you have passed your final exam.
14. How do I view the video?
When you enter each lesson with video, it will begin to play automatically. If you have high-speed internet, it will appear quickly, but if you have dial-up, it will probably take a few minutes. You can operate the video player the same you would operate a physical one: use the play, stop, fast forward and rewind buttons as you normally would.
