All real estate licensees, including property managers, are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education every year. Four of those hours must be from the Mandatory Topics list with the remaining 8 hours coming from either the Mandatory or Elective Topics lists. Up to six additional hours of education may be carried over to the next year as elective hours.

Required Yearly Montana Mortgage Broker or Loan Officer Continuing Education

All mortgage brokers and loan officers are required to pass a 12 hour continuing education class by May 31. Your License will expire by June 30.





Montana Real Estate Continuing Education


The following courses are mandatory:

  • Course #03-136 - Types of Loans, Credit Report, Terminology
  • Course #03-137 - Lead sheet, loan application and loan matrix
  • Course #03-140 - Respa, Processing and Time Management

The following courses are approved for the elective Montana Real Estate Continuing Education:

  • Course #03-138 - Respa, Quality Control
  • Course #03-139 - Appraisals
  • Course #03-141 - Loan Submission, Title Insurance and Closing
