VERMONT MORTGAGE BROKER LICENSING REQUIREMENTS Same as for lenders (except for fees, bonds, and liquid assets provisions applying to lenders). Mortgage brokers do not include real estate brokers (not compensated) for providing mortgage assistance, Vermont attorneys acting as such, and persons engaged solely with the sale or transfer of previously originated loans. (8 V.S.A. §2200, 8 V.S.A. §2202, 8 V.S.A. §2203 ) STATE FEES AND CHARGES $250 investigation fee. $250 initial license fee. The actual costs of the Commissioner's examination of the licenser. Renewal fee of $250.(8 V.S.A. §2202, 8 V.S.A. §2222) BOND Must file bond with Commissioner in amount Commissioner requires but not less than $10,000. (8 V.S.A. §2203(2))

VERMONT MORTGAGE LENDER LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
INITIAL APPLICATION Application for license must be in writing, under oath in the form prescribed by the Commissioner. A separate license required for each place of business. -If the applicant is also to engage in mortgage brokerage, this must be included in the loan application. Lender must have and maintain $25,000 of liquid assets. (8 V.S.A. §2201, 8 V.S.A. §2202, 8 V.S.A. §2203, 8 V.S.A. §2208) The Commissioner must approve or deny an application within 60 days from the filing of the application with the fees and approved bond. (8 V.S.A. §2204)
STATE FEES AND CHARGES $1,000 investigation fee. $1,000 initial license fee. $100 additional fee if lender also intends to engage in mortgage brokering. The actual costs of the Commissioner's examination of the licensee.(8 V.S.A. §2202, 8 V.S.A. §2222) $100 fee to change address of business.(8 V.S.A. §2208) Renewal fee of $1,200, except for a person with ten or more licensed locations, the renewal fee shall not exceed $12,000.(8 V.S.A. §2209)
BOND An applicant must file a bond with the Commissioner in the amount that the Commissioner requires, but not less than $25,000.(8 V.S.A. §2203) The Commissioner may require the licensee to furnish one or more additional bonds if it finds that a licensees' fund is insecure, exhausted, insufficient, or otherwise doubtful.(8 V.S.A. §2207)
